I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, supported, and free from judgment. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, life transitions, and the stress of feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker– and Certified Associate Counselor–Alcohol and Drug, I bring extensive experience in mental health and addiction treatment. My background includes leading multidisciplinary teams serving individuals with complex mental health needs, as well as providing mobile crisis assessment and intervention during times of acute emotional distress.
My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients reduce stress, strengthen coping skills, build resilience, and create meaningful change. I am also currently completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, with anticipated completion in July 2026, to further support clients impacted by trauma and distressing life experiences.
Through Nazzal Behavioral Health, I provide telehealth therapy for adults in Maryland and Virginia. Together, we will create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where you can process what you are experiencing, reconnect with your strengths, and take meaningful steps toward healing and wellness.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College. I am also board-approved to supervise CAC-AD, CSC-AD, and Alcohol and Drug Trainees

Have you ever wondered why you react strongly in certain situations, stay in relationships that do not feel healthy, avoid opportunities you truly want, or return to coping behaviors you worked hard to change?
Sometimes, the patterns we repeat are not simply about willpower or poor choices. They may be connected to experiences, beliefs, emotional wounds, or survival strategies that developed earlier in life.
Carl Jung believed that parts of our inner world can operate outside of our conscious awareness. In other words, we may carry emotions, fears, beliefs, and unresolved experiences that influence how we respond to the present, even when we do not fully understand why.
For example, someone who has experienced rejection, instability, trauma, or emotional neglect may learn to protect themselves by withdrawing, overthinking, people-pleasing, numbing emotions, or expecting the worst. These responses may have once helped them cope. Over time, however, they can begin to interfere with relationships, emotional wellness, recovery, and the ability to move forward.
Therapy can provide a safe space to slow down and begin noticing these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. Instead of asking, “What is wrong with me?” therapy can help you explore questions such as:
Understanding the past does not mean remaining stuck in it. It means gaining insight into how past experiences may be shaping your present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so that you can begin making choices from a place of awareness, strength, and self-compassion.
At Nazzal Behavioral Health, therapy is compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on helping adults understand themselves more deeply, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, recovery, or life transitions, you do not have to work through it alone.
Healing often begins when we become willing to understand the parts of ourselves we once had to protect.
